Klose extends Lazio contract

Veteran Lazio striker Miroslav Klose has signed a new one-year contract with the club, with the option for a further year also included.

The 35-year-old hitman's current deal was set to expire at the end of the current campaign, but he will now be staying for at least another year in the Italian capital.

The new deal will bring an end to much speculation linking Klose with a move back to Germany or to the MLS, and he feels he still has much to achieve with the Biancocelesti.

"I'm really happy to continue my adventure with Lazio," Klose told the club's official website.

"I've had many proposals but I decided to continue this way because I am part of an important plan and have an important role in this project."

Meanwhile, Antonio Candreva looks as if he will stay at Lazio next season, with the 27-year-old revealing he is happy where he is.

"I want to remain at Lazio next season," he told Sky Italia.

And this feeling is shared by coach Edy Reja, who admitted he would love to retain the services of the co-owned winger.

"We have already spoken and he remains," Reja added.

"I know Antonio feels good in Rome, and for me he's the first player confirmed."
