Knight outlines Fire plan
Fire Ship may return to France in search of more Pattern-race success following his Group Three victory at Deauville.
The four-year-old, trained by William Knight, could go for the Group Two Prix Daniel Wildenstein at Longchamp on October 5 after just beating Belgian Bill in the Prix Quincey Lucien Barriere on Sunday.
Knight will also consider the Joel Stakes at Newmarket a week earlier for Fire Ship, but would have no qualms about running the gelding overseas again as he takes travelling in his stride.
"He arrived back on Monday and was fine. He's taken his trip really well. When he went to Nantes (third in a Listed race) a month or so ago he travelled well that day and travelled even better this time," said Knight, who is based in West Sussex.
"I think he's getting more used to it. That means you've never worried about going abroad with them.
"It was a lovely day and Neil (Callan) gave him a lovely ride. I think we're going to aim for the Group Two at Longchamp. There's the Group Two Joel Stakes at Newmarket which we might look at as well. We'll either go there or Longchamp probably."
