Komissarova hurt in crash
Russian freestyle skier Maria Komissarova has had emergency surgery after suffering a serious injury in a Winter Olympic practice session.
The 23-year-old was training for next week's women's ski-cross event at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park when she suffered the injury, and was immediately rushed to hospital.
Early suggestions are Komissarova has suffered a broken back.
A statement from the Russian Ski Federation read: "Today Russian Olympic ski cross athlete Maria Komissarova was seriously injured during training.
"She was rushed to the Krasnopolyanskaya hospital, which was prepared especially for the Games.
"The doctors performed the necessary tests and decided to operate immediately.
"She will not take part in the Olympics."
