Kopel tribute at Tannadice

Dundee United have announced that there will be a tribute to Frank Kopel before Saturday's Premiership game with Motherwell.

The club said: "There will be a minute's applause prior to kick-off on Saturday in tribute to Frank Kopel who passed away last week."

Kopel lost his six-year battle with vascular dementia last week at the age of 59.

He made his debut in January 1972 and spent a decade at Tannadice, winning two Scottish League Cup winner's medals in 1979 and 1980.

He made over 400 appearances for the club before leaving in 1982.
