Koukash hoping for Morley stay

Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash wants Adrian Morley to remain with the club in 2015, although it remains to be seen in what capacity.

The 37-year-old left Warrington Wolves to sign a one-year contract with his hometown club and the veteran has brought some much-needed experience to the AJ Bell Stadium.

The former Sydney Roosters and Leeds Rhinos forward is yet to decide whether he will carry on playing having made his debut for the West Yorkshire club in 1994.

Koukash believes Morley has plenty to offer off the field should he decide the hang up his boots, stating there will be a backroom staff job for him next season.

\"Adrian will either be playing, a manager or assisting with the coaching staff because he is such an important figure here at Salford,\" Koukash told the M.E.N Sport.

\"We could not have a finer ambassador for our club. He has done so much this season and is so professional in everything he does. He has greatly impressed me from day one and has so much to offer on and off the field.

\"I feel strongly that Adrian, Jamie Peacock from Leeds and Jon Wilkin from Saints are the kind of people we need to listen to. They are the best in helping the game evolve and progress.

\"They have a wealth of experience and they know the game inside out. These are the people who should be listened to about what is needed to improve the game.

\"We certainly cannot afford to lose them to rival sports. They have led the way on the field and can do the same off it given the opportunity.\"

Salford's four-match winning sequence was snapped by Leeds last Friday, however, Koukash remains impressed with their turnaround under Iestyn Harris.

\"The transformation in our team is quite remarkable. In a very short space of time we have gone from being one of the slowest and most predictable teams to one of the slickest,\" he continued.

\"The atmosphere was incredible against Leeds - the best I have known it since becoming involved in rugby league. Both teams and supporters really rocked the place and this is what we want.\"
