Kuszczak delighted with call-up

Brighton goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak has spoken of his delight at being called up by Poland for their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The former Manchester United shot-stopper has kept four clean sheets so far this season, conceding the fewest goals in the Championship and his blistering form has helped the Seagulls into the play-off positions.

"Although I haven't talked with the Poland coach about my Brighton form I am sure he knows what kind of form I am in," he told the club's official website.

"He has got people watching our games, so I don't need to talk to him about how I'm playing.

"The way I have performed in the last couple of months is obviously the reason he called me up for the national team.

"I am delighted he called me straight into the squad this time but there is a lot of competition."
