Lafferty confirms Palermo exit
Kyle Lafferty has confirmed his Palermo exit and says he is sad to be leaving the club, amid reports he is set to sign for Norwich City.
It is understood that the 26-year-old underwent his medical at Carrow Road on Monday, ahead of a move to the Championship club.
Lafferty only moved to Palermo last year following a brief spell at Swiss side FC Sion, but the Northern Ireland international has previous experience in England after starting his career at Burnley before moving on to Rangers.
The striker hit 11 Serie B goals in 33 appearances for Palermo last season and he took to his Facebook page to announce his departure, issuing an apology to the Rosanero fans.
"I'm sorry. Goodbye Palermo, thanks," he wrote.
Replying to one post from a fan, Lafferty said: "I like Palermo and it was nice to play here, but Palermo has decided to sell me and I respect their decision.
"I hope that the club can spend the money buying good players and staying long in Serie A. This is a league that belongs to Palermo."
