Lafferty happy with Palermo

Kyle Lafferty's agent has confirmed a number of clubs are keeping tabs on him, but he insists he is more than happy with Palermo.

The Northern Irish striker has a long-term agreement with Palermo - who are currently four points clear at the top of Serie B as they look to return to the top flight at the first time of asking.

The 26-year-old has bagged seven goals in 13 league starts and is having a very good campaign in Sicily.

"Kyle is a top player who needed to be in a competitive league like the Italian one and he takes the field with the urge to drag Palermo back into Serie A," his agent Martin Lyon told Calciomercato.

Serie A side Livorno showed an interest in January, whilst clubs back in England are also keen.

"When a player does good things with his team it's normal that other sides follow him," said Lyon.

"At this time, however, he is focused only on Palermo, with the desire to make a contribution to the team for their return to Serie A. Livorno had asked information about Kyle but he is happy at Palermo."

Lafferty was lured to Palermo by his former Rangers team-mate Rino Gattuso - who has since left the club, but his departure has not affected the striker.

"I never thought it could affect Kyle and with his continuation in Palermo," said Lyon.

"We all know the regard that coach has in Italy and Kyle was sorry when he left as he is also a friend. But he did not let that distract from his work in Palermo."
