Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard will leave Stamford Bridge when his contract expires in the summer, according to his agent.
Weekend reports had suggested that Blues owner Roman Abramovich was considering bowing to fan power by offering the 34-year-old a new deal.
Lampard moved alongside Kerry Dixon as the Chelsea's all-time leading scorer on 193 goals when he converted a penalty in Chelsea's 5-1 FA Cup third-round victory at Southampton, prompting a chorus of 'sign him up' from the travelling support.
But Lampard's agent Steve Kutner has seemingly dashed hopes that the England international will stay on at Stamford Bridge.
Kutner was quoted in the Daily Mirror as saying: "Chelsea executives told Frank in Japan during the Club World Cup then again reconfirmed with me after the Everton victory that in no circumstances will he be offered a new contract to stay at the club after the end of this season.
"Nothing since has changed in any respect.
"Frank has had to accept that and just wants to carry on playing football for Chelsea so as to finish the season as successfully as possible for the club that he loves."
Lampard has been linked with a move to Los Angeles Galaxy, following in David Beckham's footsteps.
what do you think?
Abramovich is a disgrace.
Cant get my head around chelsea. frank has knocked in 193 goals and is still scoring. bein treated like dirt. I would love him at the villa
If like to be treated like dirt if it meant being paid £100k a week how about how he and the rest of Terry's mob treated Andre Villas Boas they didn't turn up for him school kids the lot of them ! 193 goals is that a record ? I think there's another guy ahead of them both
I can....chel$ki are a souless, cheating, joke of a club with no loyalties...abramovich doesnt have a clue and more importantly doesnt care
now he knows how it feels when the other party do not want to extend a contract and look elsewhere, it aint nice frank is it?
We would welcome him with open arms at Man-United, like Giggs and Paul,Frank has many more good years in his legs. Come On Man join a Winning Team.
