Lantern works at Kempton

After a gallop at Manton had to be cancelled to due to soft ground, Richard Hannon sent Sky Lantern to Kempton for a Breeders' Cup workout.

Hannon had wanted to send the Moyglare winner around Brian Meehan's American-style bend on the Manton gallops but instead the grey worked the wrong way round Kempton's all-weather.

She is due to leave for America on Saturday, where she will contest the Juvenile Fillies Turf next week.

"Unfortunately it was too soft to take her to Manton so we took her to Kempton instead," said Richard Hannon jnr, assistant to his father.

"She worked the wrong way around the bends at Kempton and she worked very nicely indeed. Hughesie (Richard Hughes) rode her and he was very pleased with her.

"We've never had much luck with the draw out there and I'm not sure how many runners there will be, but she's in good form and we're looking forward to it."
