Late finish for 2016 Ryder Cup
The 2016 Ryder Cup match at Hazeltine in Minneapolis will have an October finish.
Not since the 1983 contest at PGA National in Florida, has the biennial fixture been held so late in the calendar on American soil.
The next American-staged Ryder Cup in two years' time will tee-off on September 30 and end on Sunday, October 2.
The 41st meeting between the United States and Europe has been pushed back in the year to accommodate a busy summer schedule that includes golf's return to the Olympic Games.
Earlier this week, the PGA of America said that the 2016 PGA Championship at Baltustrol in New Jersey will start just 11 days after the Open Championships at Royal Troon.
