Laudrup delighted with win
Michael Laudrup was delighted with Swansea City's performance in the 3-0 home win against Newcastle United.
Swansea took the lead just before the break through Nathan Dyer and put the game beyond Newcastle in the second half with an own goal by Mathieu Debuchy and a late strike from Jonjo Shelvey.
Speaking after the game, Laudrup thought his team ran out worthy winners.
Laudrup said: "I thought we were very good tonight. In the first half against Man City we did well but the difference today was that we scored the first goal.
"I think this is a huge win and it will give us enormous confidence going into the next week.
"We have three games in six days and we have the opportunity to get to the twenty point mark and qualify for the next round of the Europa League."
Swansea were dealt a blow during the game when Alvaro Vazquez picked up an injury and had to be replaced by Dyer.
Vasquez is now expected to join Michu and Wilfried Bony out of the team and Laudrup said it is just something his side will have to get on with.
Laudrup added: "It's bad luck when you lose players in the same position.
"That's the third striker we have lost but the way we play and you saw it with Shelvey's goal, we always try to threaten."
Swansea entertain Hull City next Monday in the Premier League.
