Former Cameroon coach Denis Lavagne has criticised Samuel Eto'o for the influence he exerts over the national team.
The 31-year-old returned to the set-up this month for their 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Cape Verde Islands following a meeting with the country's Prime Minister Philemon Yang.
The Indomitable Lions won the second leg of their qualifier 2-1, but a 2-0 defeat in the first leg in September meant that they have failed to progress to the finals in South Africa next year.
Lavagne, who was sacked following Cameroon's first-leg defeat, has now criticised the country's federation for electing to include Eto'o once again.
"Eto'o is a great striker, one of the best of his generation," he said. "However, with the national team, he wants to be the coach, the captain, the president - he wants to be everything.
"For me, I would say no [to his inclusion]. He is influencing everyone. Two months ago, they were criticising him."
