Lecavalier completes Flyers rally

Vincent Lecavalier scored an overtime winner as the Philadelphia Flyers overturned a two-goal deficit to beat the Washington Capitals 5-4.

Claude Giroux scored twice, including the goal which sent the game into OT with just a minute left to play in regulation after Jakub Voracek had begun the rally from 4-2 behind.

Adam Hall had the other Flyers goal and while Dmitry Orlov tallied twice for the Capitals, who also got scores from Marcus Johansson and Jay Beagle.

Scottie Upshall and Shawn Matthias bagged two goals apiece as the Florida Panthers rallied from two behind to beat the New York Islanders 5-3.

Upshall got the last two scores in a four-goal third period for the Panthers as they overhauled a 3-1 deficit, with Marcel Goc also scoring.

Adam Henrique and Patrik Elias scored for the Devils, who had a two-game, post-Olympic break winning streak snapped. Cory Schneider had 18 saves for New Jersey.

Gregory Campbell scored twice for the Boston Bruins ad they beat the New York Rangers 6-3.

Dougie Hamilton, Milan Lucic, Jarome Iginla and Carl Soderberg also scored, while Tuukka Rask made 39 save including 19 in the first period.

Nick Holden scored a pair as the Colorado Avalanche beat the Tampa Bay Lightning by the same scoreline.

Goals from Clarke MacArthur, Erik Karlsson, Cody Ceci and Colin Greening saw the Ottawa Senators overturn an early two-goal deficit to beat the Vancouver Canucks in the Heritage Classic.

The San Jose Sharks and the St Louis Blues both had 4-2 wins, over the New Jersey Devils and the Phoenix Coyotes respectively, while the Anaheim Ducks saw off the Carolina Hurricanes 5-3.
