Lee enjoying temporary role

Sammy Lee has "thoroughly enjoyed" working with the first-team at Bolton, after being handed temporary charge alongside Jimmy Phillips.

The former Liverpool player, who spent 20 months as Sam Allardyce's assistant manager at the Reebok Stadium before stepping into the hotseat for a brief spell in 2007, is expected to be in charge at the weekend when Bolton welcome Bristol City and is excited for the challenge.

"These last few days have been fantastic," he told the club's official website.

"When Jimmy and I were asked to do it, we didn't give it a second thought. I will do whatever I can for the football club.

"The boys have been spot on. They have been focused and I have been very pleased with their application. We know there is a lot of quality in that dressing room.

"We have a game-plan which we want to impose on whoever we play, but in order to do so you have to have the basics right."
