Stacy Lewis finished her second round with a flourish to take the lead in the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic in Alabama.
The 27-year-old American birdied five of the last nine holes for a five-under-par score of 67, which earned her a one-stroke lead over Karin Sjodin, So Yeon Ryu, Sydnee Michaels and Lindsey Wright.
It could have been even better for Lewis after three successive birdies gave her a two-stroke lead, but she missed a five-foot par putt on the final hole to card a first bogey of the tournament.
However, Sjodin had the round of the day at The Crossings course, with a course-record 64 taking her to 136, eight under for the tournament, a shot behind Lewis.
