Stacy Lewis won the Navistar LPGA Classic with a two-stroke victory over title holder Lexi Thompson.

Lewis recorded a fourth career LPGA victory with an 18 under par total to edge out Thompson on the Senator course at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail's Capitol Hill complex at Prattville in Alabama.

Lewis fired a final round of 69 and although Thompson had a 66 she was two strokes adrift and had to give up the title to her fellow American.

South Koreans Mi Jung Hur and Haeji Kang were tied third on 15 under along with American Angela Stanford.

Spain's Beatriz Recari and Australia's Sarah Jane Smith shared sixth on 14 under and there was a three-way tie for eighth on 13 under between Koreans Meena Lee, So Yeon Ryo and Hee Young Park.
