Liddle set to leave Notts Co
Gary Liddle is set to leave Notts County after turning down the offer of a new contract.
Liddle's current two-year deal will expire next month and the 27-year-old has taken to Twitter to reveal he will not be extending his stay at Meadow Lane.
"Was happy to have been offered a new contract at the club, a club I've loved playing for over the last two years and given my absolute all," Liddle said via several posts on the social networking site.
"Sadly, due to different reasons I won't be signing a new contract and I will be looking for a new club to start the new season with.
"Like to thank all at (the club) and the fans who welcomed me from day one, I've met some great people, an eventful but enjoyable two years.
"Gutted to leave behind some top guys and friends but things move on and I'm sure Notts will do well next season under Shaun (Derry) and Greg (Abbott).
"Proud to have played my part in the 'Great Escape', and I wish everyone good luck for next season and beyond."
Liddle played every league game in his first season at Notts and played a key role in the club's League One survival this season.
