Ling bemoans toothless Gulls
Torquay boss Martin Ling admitted his frustration as the Gulls recorded a 1-1 draw at home to in-form Burton in League Two on Saturday.
Brewers striker Calvin Zola netted his fourth goal in three games after Zander Diamond's header came back off the post at Plainmoor.
Torquay took an 11th minute lead through their own in-form target man Rene Howe, who converted his fifth goal of the season after latching on to Nathan Craig's left-wing cross at the far post and side footing home.
Ling said: "I think it's a case of two points dropped. It's frustrating, I feel even though it was a late goal we brought it on ourselves.
"I suppose our expectations and standards have gone up, after making the play-offs in the past two seasons, and we have not managed to live with them.
"I thought Burton thoroughly deserved their point in the end. I just said to the 13 that played that I could not knock any of them for work rate or effort but I think I can knock all of them for not being good enough on the ball."
