Ling satisfied with away point

Torquay boss Martin Ling thought a draw was the correct result as he saw his side fight back to earn a respectable 1-1 draw at Chesterfield.

Tendayi Darikwa scored his first Chesterfield goal to put the hosts in front on 48 minutes but Torquay responded three minutes later when a slip by Neal Trotman allowed Rene Howe to beat Richard O'Donnell from 12 yards.

Ling said: "It was a fair reflection on the game. I thought for the first 20 minutes we passed it really well but then we went missing for the next 25 minutes and they got the upper hand.

"It was a disappointing goal, they scored very easily but I think Tommy (Wright) will be saying the same with their lad slipping over.

"But it was a fair point and we are always happy with a point away from home. We asked a lot of questions of them and moved the ball well. We talked about passing the ball a bit more and I thought we certainly did that."
