Livingston dump Hearts out

A Jordan White double helped Livingston to an emphatic 4-1 win over Hearts in the Petrofac Training Cup at Almondvale Stadium.

Myles Hippolate and David Robertson put the game beyond their championship rivals with goals in the final 10 minutes though the Jambos did manage a late consolation thanks to a Jason Talby own goal.

White put John McGlynn's side in front after just six minutes when he pounced on a loose ball from a corner and fired home.

The game remained at 1-0 until the break and Hearts applied pressure on the home side after the restart but were unable to break the Livi defence.

White doubled Livingston's advantage on 76 minutes when he nodded home Keaghan Jacobs' cross.

Hippolyte made it three after 81 minutes courtesy of a fine solo goal and Roberston put the icing on the cake three minutes later with a calm finish.

Hearts did register at the death when Jason Talbot put through his own net, but their 100 per cent start to the season came to an emphatic halt.
