Look Hughes plotting a clear-out

Mark Hughes is planning a summer clear-out whatever the outcome of QPR's final-day bid to achieve Premier League survival.

The Hoops travel to Manchester City on Sunday in the knowledge that a defeat will see them relegated from the Premier League if Bolton win at Stoke.

But even if they do get a helping hand from the Potters at the Britannia Stadium, it looks likely to be the end of the road for a large number of the Rangers squad.

Patrick Agyemang, Radek Cerny, Lee Cook, Kieron Dyer, Danny Gabbidon, Fitz Hall, Peter Ramage and Danny Shittu and are all out of contract at the end of the season.

Attempts are also likely to be made to sell Angelo Balanta, Matt Connolly, Troy Hewitt, Rob Hulse and Brian Murphy, while the futures of Jay Bothroyd, Clint Hill and Heidar Helguson are in doubt.

And Hughes insists it is all part of the rebuilding process as QPR aim to improve.

"Every club will look at their current staff and what they need to build and get stronger, Hughes told the Fulham Chronicle.

"And that won't change no matter what club I'm at. We're looking to make it stronger and that means a number of players will go as a result."
