Lotus commemorate Raikkonen retort

Kimi Raikkonen has ensured every Lotus team member never forgets his victory in Abu Dhabi on Sunday - courtesy of a special t-shirt.

The t-shirt sports one of Raikkonen's famous radio messages.

Raikkonen took full advantage of another failure on Lewis Hamilton's McLaren this season to take the chequered flag at the Yas Marina circuit.

It was Raikkonen's first victory for just over three years, and the first for the staff at the team's factory in Enstone for four years when they were formerly known as Renault.

During the race, however, Raikkonen made his feelings plan to those on the pitwall when they passed on information to the Finn.

Told over the radio Ferrari's Fernando Alonso was five seconds behind and he would be kept informed of his pace, Raikkonen retorted: "Just leave me alone, I know what I'm doing!"

Then with 14 laps remaining, and running behind the safety car for a second time in the race, Raikkonen was told to keep working all four tyres.

His response again was snappy as he said: "Yes, yes, yes, I'm doing that all the time. You don't have to remind me every 10 seconds!"

In light of his win and the messages, Raikkonen has presented the 500 Lotus staff with a black t-shirt with gold lettering.

A Lotus spokesperson said: "The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix provided us with so many great memories - the team's first win since 2008, the first victory for Kimi on his return and, of course, those unforgettable radio messages between the Finn and his engineers.

"To commemorate this unforgettable evening, a special t-shirt has been commissioned for every member of the Enstone team with a message that will reverberate around the factory walls for years to come - 'Leave me alone, I know what I'm doing'."
