LPGA stars in Twitter row

Brittany Lincicome attracted the ire of several of her fellow LPGA professionals with a couple of recent tweets.

The American was playing in the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia last week when she made the controversial remarks.

"Golf is SOOO dang frustrating :-( Can't wait for the year to be over!!!!!!!!!!!" Lincicome tweeted on Friday.

Several hours later, during the third round, the players were taken off the course as a result of a rain delay, which only seemed to annoy Lincicome more.

"Rain rain go away!!!!!" she continued. "Actually if it stays around I won't have to play anymore!!!!!! :-)"

Her comments were not well received by several of her fellow professionals, especially Christina Kim, who was not in Malaysia.

At 110th on the LPGA money list, the American will be forced to return to Q-School later in the year for the first time in her career.

"I'd kill for the chance to play," Kim responded. "I'm just saying there are people that would love to play, and it wouldn't hurt to remember that."

"Great! It's still a free country. I can say whatever I want!" Lincicome hit back. "I don't comment to most of your posts, I'm just tired."

Fellow LPGA players soon chimed in.

Nicole Hage wrote: "People would kill to be in Asia right now sitting in that delay. Instead we're home preparing 4 QSchool."

Lincicome admitted later that her comments had cost her a number of Twitter followers.

"Two nights in a row I hit on contentious topics & lose 100 followers, including @Brittany1golf (Lincicome)," Kim wrote. "Sad to see a friend unfollow due to my opinion."
