Lucky escape for Danny Cook

Jockey Danny Cook thankfully appears to have escaped serious injury despite a horrifying fall at Haydock on Saturday.

It was feared the jumps jockey might have broken his collarbone after the tumble from Tiptoeaway at the third-last fence in a two-and-three-quarter-mile handicap chase.

However, it seems those fears have been allayed.

Cook is attached to the Brian Ellison stable and the North Yorkshire trainer reports the rider to be none the worse.

"I spoke to him on Saturday night and he says he's just sore. He's not broken his collarbone," said Ellison. "He says he's coming into the yard on Monday."

Cook has had more than his fair share of his injuries in recent seasons. He broke a leg in November 2013, a collarbone in March 2011 and fractured a kneecap in December of that year.
