Luggy shoulders blame for loss
Southend boss Paul Sturrock admitted he may have made an error with his team selection following the defeat at Morecambe.
After winning so comprehensively against the Millers last week in League Two, Sturrock named an unchanged side at the Globe Arena on Saturday. However, Southend succumbed to a goal two minutes from time to lose 1-0.
"I was thinking before the game about making a couple of changes but we did so well at Rotherham that I went with the same side and we didn't play as well," said Sturrock.
"We did miss the influence of Michael Timlin, who we had to bring off early in the game, because he is a leader in the centre of midfield. But even though he went off I thought we had done enough to get a draw.
"We had a great chance just before Morecambe scored but didn't take it and they went up the other end and scored.
"It is always disappointing to lose to a late goal and we are losing too many games 1-0 for my liking, but that's how it goes in football and we have to take it and make sure we move on with two home games this week."
