Luton run rampant in friendly

Luton kicked off their pre-season in style as they ran out 5-0 winners at Hitchin Town.

The newly-promoted League Two side were backed by more than 1,000 Hatters fans and they were celebrating after 12 minutes when Shaun Whalley opened the scoring, cutting inside his marker and finishing neatly past Tahj Bell.

After a first-half free-kick and a neat second-half volley, Alex Wall secured a 26-minute hat-trick by coolly converting a 57th minute penalty and Mark Cullen completed the rout as his deflected shot beat the helpless Bell.

The Calor League Premier side were well beaten and John Still's side's next challenge is Conference side Barnet on Sunday.
