Magath rues dropped points

Fulham boss Felix Magath rued dropping two points after being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Hull City.

Fulham looked to be heading for all three points after racing into a 2-0 lead early in the second half through goals from Ashkan Dejagah and Fernando Amorebieta, but Hull produced a late fightback to earn a share of the spoils thanks to goals from Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long.

The point leaves Fulham in the bottom three with just two games remaining and Magath admitted they really needed all three points against Hull.

"Yeah we are very disappointed for sure because we have played very well and were leading 2-0 and then unfortunately we conceded a goal and get a lot of pressure," Magath told Sky Sports.

"So it was only a point and today we have to make three points not only one so we are disappointed."

Despite missing the chance to climb out of the drop zone, Magath is refusing to give up on Fulham's chances of securing survival in their last two games against Stoke and Crystal Palace.

He said: "Yes for sure [Fulham can stay up]. At the moment we lose two points that's bad for sure but we have to go on and we have two chances to take six points in the next two games."

Magath was left to rue chances to put the game beyond Hull at 2-0 after his attacking changes at the start of the second half put Fulham in control.

"The first half it was not bad, but it was not good and in the second half the plan was to go with more attacking players on the field and it worked very good," continued Magath.

"We had two or three 100 per cent chances to score, but unfortunately we could not score one more goal and we have to go home with one point."
