Majala Festival options open

Tom George has yet to firm up Cheltenham Festival plans for his progressive novice chaser Majala.

Despite failing to live up to expectations on his first three starts in Britain last season, the French import has really raised his game this term, completing a hat-trick in the Grade Two Kingmaker Novices' Chase at Warwick last month.

The seven-year-old is entered in the Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham, but also has the option of switching to handicap company for the Grand Annual.

George said: "He's in the Grand Annual and the Arkle and we haven't really made any definite decisions about him yet.

"We know he's a horse who loves soft ground and we don't know how he'll handle better ground.

"We're just weighing things up at the moment."

One George runner whose Festival target has been decided is Module, who has looked the part when winning at Newbury and Leicester on his last couple of starts.

"He's in good form and the plan is for him to run in the Jewson Novices' Chase over two and a half miles. Paddy (Brennan) came in and rode him work this morning and was very happy with him," said the trainer.
