Godolphin's one-time Derby hope Mandaean makes his return to action at Longchamp on Saturday in the Prix du Prince D'Orange.
Trained by Andre Fabre as a juvenile to win the Criterium de Saint-Cloud, he was sent to Mahmood al Zarooni to be prepared for Epsom.
However, he finished a distant sixth behind Bonfire in the Dante Stakes at York in May and has not been seen since.
"We squeezed Mandaean at the start of the season to get him ready and then gave him a break," Al Zarooni told www.godolphin.com.
"He has been back in work for a few weeks and is taking his training better. He did two good pieces of work recently and proved that he has improved from the start of the year.
"He has won a Group One and I see that he has a certain amount of class from his work.
"I think this looks a nice race for him to return in and he heads to France in good form."
Mandaean is one of eight runners along with John Gosden's Starboard and French Guineas winner Lucayan.
