Man City v Blackburn preview

Sergio Aguero is back in contention for Manchester City's FA Cup third-round replay against Blackburn at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night (kick-off 8.10pm).

The Argentinian has missed the last eight games with a calf injury and his return is timely, with midfielder Samir Nasri (knee) facing eight weeks out.

Midfielder Yaya Toure (back) will not be risked while playmaker David Silva has also suffered a knock. Striker Stevan Jovetic and midfielder Jack Rodwell (both hamstring) are unlikely to return.

Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer hopes winger Josh King can play a part at the Etihad Stadium.

The former Manchester United trainee missed out at the weekend against Doncaster due to a hamstring strain but trained on Monday and will be in the squad if he comes through Tuesday's session without any further problems.

Midfielder Corry Evans is nearing a return but the weekend trip to Nottingham Forest is a more likely comeback date from his ankle problem, the same ailment which keeps Dickson Etuhu out.

Striker David Goodwillie may return to the squad after returning from his loan spell with Dundee United while top scorer Jordan Rhodes will hope to play a part after starting on the bench for the 2-2 draw at Ewood Park.
