Man City v Sunderland preview

Manchester City are without key midfielder Yaya Toure for their rearranged Barclays Premier League home clash with Sunderland.

Toure suffered a leg injury early in Sunday's defeat at Liverpool and is likely to be out for 10 days to a fortnight.

Captain Vincent Kompany (knee) is fit after an injury scare while top scorer Sergio Aguero (hamstring) came through his comeback at Anfield unscathed.

Provisional squad: Hart, Pantilimon, Zabaleta, Richards, Kompany, Demichelis, Lescott, Boyata, Clichy, Kolarov, Milner, Nasri, Navas, Silva, Garcia, Fernandinho, Rodwell, Aguero, Negredo, Dzeko, Jovetic.

Sunderland full-back Phil Bardsley will miss Wednesday night's Barclays Premier League trip to Manchester City through suspension.

The defender collected his 10th booking of the season during Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Everton and will sit out the next two games as a result.

Midfielder Liam Bridcutt will also be absent at the Etihad Stadium because of a personal issue, while striker Steve Fletcher (ankle) is unlikely to play again this season and keeper Keiren Westwood continues his recovery from a shoulder injury.

Provisional squad: Mannone, Ustari, Celustka, Brown, O'Shea, Vergini, Cuellar, Roberge, Cattermole, Gardner, Ki, Giaccherini, Johnson, Colback, Larsson, Ba, Mavrias, Borini, Altidore, Scocco, Wickham.
