Man Utd v Chelsea preview

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Wayne Rooney will be involved when Manchester United take on FA Cup holders Chelsea in their quarter-final clash on Sunday.

Jonny Evans and Shinji Kagawa were on the bench alongside Rooney for the defeat to Real Madrid and could come into the reckoning if Ferguson looks to tinker with his starting XI.

Ryan Giggs will not be involved after playing 90 minutes on his 1,000th senior appearance against Real, while Phil Jones is still working his way back to fitness after an ankle injury.

Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez has striker Demba Ba available again after the former Newcastle forward was ineligible for the Europa League defeat to Steaua Bucharest.

Ba could come into the starting line-up against United at Old Trafford in place of Fernando Torres, who continues to struggle in front of goal with just two in his last 18 appearances, against Brentford and Middlesbrough.

Ashley Cole and Juan Mata were only on the bench in midweek, while Ramires did not travel, and all three key men can expect to be involved this weekend, while John Terry could be replaced by Gary Cahill in central defence.
