Marshall guarantees silver
A unanimous decision saw Savannah Marshall guarantee at least a silver medal and move into the middleweight final in Glasgow.
The Hartlepool boxer took the semi-final bout against Nigeria's Edith Ogoke 39-37, 40-36, 40-36 on the judges' cards after an assured performance.
The first two rounds followed much the same pattern, with Marshall landing the cleaner blows and enjoying plenty of success with the straight right against the Nigerian southpaw and getting the nod from all three judges on the scorecards.
Ogoke came out with more intent at the start of round three but a couple of solid blows from Marshall saw her revert to type for the remainder of the round.
With little left to lose, Ogoke was far more aggressive in the final round and was able to catch Marshall with a couple of useful left hooks. The 23-year-old England fighter was unfazed though and responded in kind to do enough to take the round on two of the three judges' cards.
The world champion will now face Ariane Fortin in the final on Saturday after the Canadian won an extremley close fight with Wales' Lauren Price by split decision, 38-38, 39-36, 36-39.
