Matthews happy at Celtic

Celtic defender Adam Matthews admits he has no plans to follow former team-mate Joe Ledley in moving to the Premier League.

Wales team-mate Ledley left Celtic for Crystal Palace in January and he has impressed during his time at Selhurst Park.

Asked if he would be interested in following Ledley's path to England, Matthews said: "Me? I haven't really thought about playing in the Premier League myself.

"I've still got two seasons left on my contract with Celtic and I'm happy here. I'm just looking forward to playing for Celtic again next season and helping us do well."

Matthews has endured an injury-hit campaign this terms due to a series of hamstring, shoulder and calf problems and the 22-year-old admits it has been his worst campaign for time spent out of action.

"It's been my worst ever campaign for injuries," he said. "I came into it still with a hamstring problem and it took me a while to get going.

"Then I had the dislocated shoulder which kept me out for a couple of months, so it's been a bad season on that front."
