Richard Fahey's Mayson (4-1) was an easy winner of the Connaught Access Flooring Abernant Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday.
The Invincible Spirit colt was always going well at the head of affairs for Paul Hanagan and the race was over in a matter of seconds when the champion jockey pushed the button.
He was good value for the winning distance of three-and-a-half lengths in the end with Jimmy Styles, who was also always up with the pace, second at 15-2.
Internationaldebut was third at 25-1.
Fahey said: "He settled a little bit better today and we always thought he was capable of making his mark in a race like this. He'll now go to the Duke Of York Stakes at the Dante meeting."
