McClaren happy with goals

Derby head coach Steve McClaren has hailed his side's timely return to form in front of goal.

The Rams failed to score in four successive games at the start of March but since ending the drought with a 5-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest, McClaren's men have drawn a blank just once in eight games.

County have won their last five fixtures and have a trip to Elland Road on Saturday to end their league campaign, leaving their boss pleased with how things are shaping up ahead of the play-offs.

"We're scoring goals again and we've got our goalscoring boots on, which we hope bodes well for the play-offs," McClaren told Rams Player.

"We had that little run in March where we didn't score for four games but we always knew the goals would come again.

"We maintained the belief all along that we'd start scoring goals again and that was vital.

"Since then we've only not scored in one game, which was Middlesbrough away, and we've been getting goals regularly.

"We're continuing to get them from all areas which is brilliant because you can't rely on just one player all the time.

"We always look like scoring and that's a great part of this team."
