McCoist: Good draw for us

Ally McCoist believes the Scottish Cup draw against Albion Rovers gives his team a great chance to progress to the last four.

However, the Rangers manager has warned the men from Coatbridge cannot be taken lightly judged on their performances in previous rounds.

Rangers secured their quarter-final home tie after a 4-0 win over Dunfermline at Ibrox and McCoist believes it will take a similar effort to reach the semis at the same venue.

"Yes, it was a good draw for us, but it's only a good draw if we win the game," he told the assembled media ahead of Saturday's trip to League One rivals Ayr United.

"Albion Rovers have already shown this year, in knocking out a really strong Motherwell side, that they are a good team.

"They have not conceded a goal in the tournament, they beat Motherwell 1-0, Stenhousemuir 2-0 and two earlier ties as well.

"Everyone around the club is pleased with the draw as it's at home, but we will not get carried away. A home tie in the last eight gives the fans something to look forward to."
