McElhinney blanks Wild in NHL
Curtis McElhinney claimed his first shut-out in nearly three years as the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Minnesota Wild 4-0.
McElhinney stopped 20 shots to blank the Wild, while goals from Cam Atkinson, Nick Foligno, Boone Jenner and RJ Umberger sealed the win.
Ryan Johansen added a pair of assists for Columbus.
The Carolina Hurricanes scored four times in the third period to beat the San Jose Sharks 5-3.
Riley Nash, Jordan Staal, Elias Lindholm and Eric Staal got the goals to add to Jay Harrison's second-period effort as the Hurricanes overcame a two-goal first-period deficit.
Chris Higgins' overtime goal gave the Vancouver Canucks a 3-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes, while the Anaheim Ducks beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 after a shootout.
There were also wins for the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche.
