McShane to have further tests
Hull City defender Paul McShane is to undergo further tests next week after he was injured in the 1-0 home defeat to Southampton on Tuesday evening.
The 28-year-old was carried off in the 12th minute of the Premier League clash at the KC Stadium after injuring his left ankle and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary.
Initial X-rays revealed there was no fracture and he underwent additional tests on Wednesday morning, according to the club's official website.
However, his ankle remains swollen and the medical experts have decided to wait until next week - when the swelling has gone down - before making further investigations to see if there is any ligament damage.
Hull manager Steve Bruce replaced McShane with winger George Boyd and was forced to make several tactical changes as a result.
"We never really recovered from having to make those early changes," said Bruce after the match.
