Mendis won't face New Zealand
Sri Lanka have left injured spinner Ajantha Mendis out of their Twenty20 and one-day squads to face New Zealand.
Mendis has not fully recovered from a side strain picked up during their opening world T20 match against Zimbabwe last month.
He went on to play in the rest of the tournament - bar one game - and ended with 15 wickets with a stingy 9.80 average but he had to take painkillers to continue.
"Ajantha played those matches taking painkillers, he has still not recovered 100 percent from the injury. He is still under treatment," Sri Lanka team manager Charith Senanayake said.
Sri Lanka have also rested one-day captain Mahela Jayawardene and pace bowler Lasith Malinga from their Twenty20 squad, which will be skippered by all-rounder Angelo Mathews.
Uncapped spinners Tharindu Kaushal and Akila Dananjaya have been selected for the first three one-day matches, the latter having impressed in the shorter form of the game.
Kaushal makes the step from the U19 squad, with chief selector Ashantha de Mel saying: "We were highly impressed by Kaushal's bowling in the U19 World Cup in Australia.
"Kaushal is the nearest we can compare to the legendary Muttiah Muralitharan. He is a finger spinner and he also bowls the doosra. He can also bat and field which makes him a strong candidate for selection."
