Milan eye Essien loan move

Michael Essien's representatives are understood to be in talks with AC Milan regarding a possible loan move to the San Siro.

Essien spent last season on loan at Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho, featuring 21 times in La Liga.

However, since Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge the 31-year-old's chances with Chelsea have been limited and he has made just two league starts this season.

Now new Milan coach Clarence Seedorf wants to add him to his squad, Sky Sports understands, with an eye on the Champions League.

Essien was not included in Chelsea's Champions League squad this season so he is not cup tied and he could potentially play for Milan against Atletico Madrid next month.

Galatasary have also expressed an interest in signing Essien.
