Module set for Kempton run

Module is likely to have his sights lowered next month as trainer Tom George sorts out plans for his batch of two-mile chasers.

Fourth in the Jewson after a promising novice season, Module made an excellent comeback in the Haldon Gold Cup to finish a head behind Somersby and ahead of Cue Card.

On his most recent appearance, the gelding weakened to fourth behind Riverside Theatre in a competitive Peterborough Chase.

"I think he'll wait for a graduation chase at Kempton in early February, and hopefully there'll be some good ground," said George.

Two of his stablemates, Majala and Rody, have entries in the Dan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse on January 19, as well as more imminent ones.

The former was beaten only by Sire De Grugy at Chepstow in October before falling in the Castleford Chase at Wetherby, while Rody was fourth on his comeback at Newbury in November.

George said: "Majala loves quite heavy ground and he's in at Fairyhouse as well as Ascot (Clarence House Chase). We'll just have to wait and see, it's a bit up in the air, and it's the same with Rody."
