Moonstone in Newbury frame

Ralph Beckett is hoping the current wet spell of weather continues as he considers sending Moonstone Magic to Newbury on Saturday.

The Trade Fair filly made an impressive debut when winning by eight lengths at Leicester last week and Beckett is mulling a step up to Group Three level in the Dubai Duty Free Stakes.

He said: "If we have a wet week, I might turn Moonstone Magic out again in the Fred Darling at Newbury."

Beckett is also plotting routes for Oaks hopefuls Colima and Cubanita but revealed that last year's Superlative Stakes fourth Pearl Mix will not be back in action for some time.

"Pearl Mix has a condition which means he is going to need a couple of months off and we won't see him until the autumn," he added.

"Colima and Cubanita are well, and will appear in trials at some point soon."
