Moore keen to curb expectations

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore was keen to adopt a sense of realism after his table-topping side recorded a 5-2 win at Crawley on Saturday.

Two goals from striker Jake Cassidy helped Rovers to maximum points in a topsy-turvy League One clash at the Broadfield Stadium.

Danny Holmes, Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro, and Andy Robinson were all on target in the second half as Rovers maiontained their unbeaten record after eight league games.

Moore said: "The depth of the squad could be a problem. We've got a squad of 18 players with four loanees and I'm mindful that things can start to be more difficult once yellow cards begin to set in.

"But we're showing a lot of passion, the attitude is very good and we have got pace in the side. It's nice to be top and we're trying to play the right way and do the right things.

"We needed to score just after half-time and that goal set us up. This was a tough game for us as Crawley have been flying, but we showed enough energy and commitment to come out on top."
