Moore named Manager of Month

Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has scooped back-to-back manager of the month awards after landing September's prize.

Moore has Rovers sat top of the League One standings after 11 games of the season.

His high-flying outfit enjoyed a productive run through September, going unbeaten in six league fixtures.

Tranmere collected 14 points from four wins and two draws, scoring 15 goals and conceding just three.

Moore has now been recognised as the top boss in the third tier for two months in a row, but he is quick to point out that it is a team effort at Prenton Park.

"It's fantastic," he told Sky Sports.

"It's a great achievement for not just me, but for John McMahon, who has been a fantastic coach, Dave Timmins, the goalkeeping coach, and Greg Blundell our physio.

"It's not just me, I don't have a magic wand. And the players have been fantastic.

"It doesn't happen that often. You might get it one month and then you are very lucky if you get it again in the season, so it's nice to get two on the trot."
