Tony Mowbray has warned his Middlesbrough players only hard work will see them bounce back from their drubbing at Blackpool.
Boro headed for the north-west coast on Tuesday evening hopeful of laying down a marker against one of the Championship promotion favourites.
However, they returned on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline and now face an equally testing visit to leaders Blackburn on Friday night.
Mowbray told the club's official website: "There's a no-excuse culture - damn hard work is required and together we must move on.
"We have got another opportunity on Friday with another very tough away fixture against the team above Blackpool in the league, and we will go there and see if we can get it right."
