Mumbai defeated again

Mumbai Indians continued their dismal start to the defence of their IPL title, suffering a 15-run defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Indians, who have now lost five in a row to start the season, finished short on 157-7 chasing a target of 173 in Dubai.

Mumbai all-rounder Kieron Pollard scored 78 off 48 balls but had little support and fell to Irfan Pathan's first ball of the final over with 20 still needed.

Left-arm seamer Pathan easily closed out the win from there to finish with figures of 2-10, while his fellow seamers Dale Steyn (2-20) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2-17) also claimed two wickets apiece.

Australian David Warner had earlier top scored with 65 as the Sunrisers piled up 172-5 after being sent in.

Warner, who hit four sixes during his 51-ball stay, put on 111 in 13.2 overs with Lokesh Rahul (46) for the third wicket.

The opening fortnight of this year's IPL was held in the Middle East due to elections in India but now returns home for the remainder of the tournament, starting with Chennai Super Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders in Ranchi on Friday.
