Martin Murray will return to action on a big night of boxing at the Manchester Velodrome on Saturday June 16.
Murray, who fought a draw with WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm in December, will be on the undercard of the Hatton Promotions bill headed by Scott Quigg v Rendall Munroe.
The 29-year-old, who faces an as-yet unnamed opponent, was poised to land a second successive world title fight against WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez jnr.
However, visa problems prevented him from travelling to the United States but promoter Ricky Hatton is hoping this will be a warm-up fight ahead of another title tilt.
"After his magnificent performance against Sturm, Martin deserves another world title challenge and I will make sure it happens," he said.
Also on the undercard, Ryan Rhodes will take on Sergey Rabchenko for the vacant European light-middleweight title.
