Murray heading to Miami

Andy Murray will play in an exhibition tournament in Miami in December as part of his preparations for next season, organisers have announced.

The US Open champion bases himself in the city for his pre-season training block and will be one of six players to take part in the new Miami Tennis Cup.

Murray will play either former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero or John Isner in the semi-finals on December 1 before a possible final against Andy Roddick, who retired from professional tennis at the US Open, the following day.

The tournament will be held at Crandon Park, the venue for the Miami Masters in March, but the court will be painted white with red lines and a blue surround to represent the colours of the American flag.
